Z H I N O is Back With '2 Playa'

Z H I N O

Croydon’s own Z H I N O doesn’t ease into anything AND “2 Playa” is no different. From the first second, it’s got that I don’t give a f** energy that’s become his signature. If you’ve been to one of his shows, you already know. He doesn’t just perform - he owns the stage. Crowd in his palm. Presence like he was meant to be up there.

This new single pulls from Jersey club, trap, and jerk, but it’s more than just a mash-up of styles - it’s a bold statement. Every snare, bounce, and bass hit is placed with intent. ZHINO produced it himself, as always, and it shows. The beat doesn’t build - it kicks the door down. Clean, sharp, aggressive. No room for hesitation.

When asked why music he responds with: “I just gotta keep pushing it because the highs are better than anything else I’ve ever experienced, you know?”.

What makes “2 Playa” cut deeper is how it balances that bravado with honesty.

Z H I N O explains:

This track means a lot to me. Sonically, it’s my spin on the jerk beats making waves right now, but there’s jersey and trap layered in because that combo tells the emotional story better.”

Underneath the tough exterior is a reflection on resilience - on finding your worth again after being tested.

In my life I’ve dealt with real hardship. At one point I couldn’t find a good word to say about myself. But eventually, something shifts. You push through. You start to back yourself again. That’s what this track is - me backing myself.

Z H I N O’s never been one to play it safe. From the charged defiance of Can I Talk My Shit to the weight of Shits Changed and the urgency of Not A Game, his sound is always pushing forward. Even when he loosens up on cuts like Curry Goat & Rice, it’s still precise - he never drifts. And people are taking notice.

Not just in the UK, but across the Atlantic too. Features in Listen Mag, New Wave, and more reflect how fast his influence is spreading. Radio support from the likes of BBC Introducing, Capital Xtra, Kiss FM, Reprezent - Z H I N O’s in rotation and in the conversation.

Every piece of his work - from the production to the visuals - feels lived-in, fully his.

Nothing polished to please. Nothing handed over half-finished.

'2 Playa' isn’t just a single. It’s another reminder that Z H I N O isn’t here to fit in.

He’s here to take over.
