Offset’s 'Professional' Is a Hustler’s Confession Wrapped in Jazz and Trap

Offset is back with a new single called “Professional,” his third release this year after “TEN” and “Bodies,” the latter featuring JID. The track is produced by Evrgn, 254Bodi, Macshooter49, and DashOTB, and it takes jazzy loops with trap beats and it's got Offset's signature all over it.

On the song, Offset raps lines like, "Professional b***h getter / This Draco will hit, n**** / And what is a six figure? / I’m sayin’,” which mix braggadocio with a subtle question about what success really means. It’s like he’s flexing, but also poking at the idea that numbers on a check don’t tell the full story.

There’s a real sense of confidence here. When he says, “I had to go trap and go kick me a door before I ever had rapped to a fan,” it feels like a quick, honest register to the grind before the fame a reminder of where he started.

Women in fashionable outfits walk by "Lucien" cafe-bar with a red awning. The evening scene is lively and vibrant, with warm lighting.

The video matches the song’s vibe. Shot at Lucien, a well-known downtown NYC spot, it feels like a night out with friends. Offset’s crew is relaxed and having fun, not stiff or overly rehearsed. There’s a playful energy, like everyone’s in on the joke. The video switches things up halfway with some black-and-white camcorder-style shots, which add a nostalgic touch and strip back the polish a little.

Offset’s lyrics also reveal a few interesting layers. For example, “I talk to the streets, I’m a deacon” feels like more than just a line it hints at his role in the community and staying connected despite success. And when he says, “He don’t want beef, he turn into a vegan,” there’s a mix of humour and a subtle callout to those who back down when things get real.

The track and video aren’t about over-the-top flashiness. 'Professional' comes across as playful and confident a snapshot of where he’s at right now.
