Exploring Lounges in London: Maya Lounge

Been loving documenting all these lounges I’ve been to and this is lounge number 5. Not in order of favourites (don’t make me choose!) but just the next one I decided to write about in this little series. It’s been such a fun way to reflect on the places I’ve been, the people I’ve gone with, and the memories made along the way.

Maya Lounge in North London was one of those nights that just felt right from start to finish. I went with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday, and from the second we arrived, the vibes were exactly what we were hoping for. Warm, welcoming, and effortlessly put together. The staff genuinely went above and beyond to make my friend feel celebrated, and it didn’t go unnoticed. You can always tell when a place cares about the experience they’re creating.

The lounge itself has this darker, moodier palette compared to some of the more airy and floral spots I’ve written about, but that’s what I loved. It’s cozy, stylish, and gives “late night energy” in the best way. You’ve got comfy sofas, heaters to keep you warm, and a blend of Middle Eastern-inspired decor that makes it feel like a proper escape from the London buzz outside.

The food? Delicious. The drinks? Refreshing. Whether you’re going in for a full meal or just grabbing shisha and something to sip on, Maya delivers. Their shisha menu is solid too, with high-quality pipes, smooth flavours, and some house blends you probably haven’t tried before. They take their time with it, and the service is on point throughout the session.

And if you happen to go on a Thursday through Sunday, you’re in for a treat. They’ve got belly dancers performing from 9:30pm till late, adding that extra flair that turns a chill evening into something special.

Right now, they’re actually going through some renovations and I’m genuinely excited to see what they come back with. If it was this good before, I know it’s only going to get better.

So if you’re into lounges that feel intimate, a little luxe, and full of great energy, Maya Lounge is one to keep on your radar. Especially for birthdays or nights when you just want to feel looked after.
