The World's Biggest Afrobeats Festival is Back! Afro Nation Is Celebrating Through Music, Culture, Art and More!

For five years, Afro Nation Portugal has been a vibrant focal point for global Black culture. As it prepares for its landmark fifth anniversary edition on Praia da Rocha beach in Portimão, Portugal, from July 9th to 11th, 2025, it's clear this festival has grown into a significant cultural event.

What began in 2019 as a music festival has evolved into an annual gathering, bringing together over 40,000 attendees from more than 170 countries. Beyond the musical performances, Afro Nation highlights the convergence of African and diaspora fashion, culinary innovation, and dance. It has fostered a community where connections are made and cultural pride is celebrated on a global scale.

Afro Nation has played a notable role in the music industry, helping to elevate artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido to international recognition. The 2025 lineup continues this trend, featuring a blend of established artists and newer voices shaping contemporary music.
The roster for this year includes the return of Burna Boy, known for his energetic stage presence. The inclusion of Chris Brown and Mary J. Blige demonstrates the festival's broadening musical scope, bringing R&B influences alongside Afrobeats and Amapiano. Mary J. Blige's performance is anticipated to offer a moment of timeless soul.

Davido's infectious energy is a recurring highlight, while Tems is set to make her headline debut, sharing her soulful, genre-blending sound. The lineup also features a diverse range of talent, from the French rap of Booba and Franglish to the soulful tones of Amaarae and June Freedom. Amapiano artists like Uncle Waffles, Scorpion Kings, DBN Gogo, and Vigro Deep are also confirmed. Additionally, francophone and diaspora artists such as Naza, Tiakola, Joé Dwèt Filé, and Ronisia will contribute to the festival's global representation.

This new addition is being referred to as the "Paradise Takeover," signifying the festival's increasing global presence.
